Robin Lackey Jacobs began practicing law at Epting & Hackney in 1983, and has focused her practice in the areas of real estate law, environmental conservation, and small business representation. After several years spent on leave from the firm while she served as the Executive Director and General Counsel of the Eno River Association, Robin has resumed her work at the Epting & Hackney, putting her 30 years of experience to work for the firmís clients.
Robin grew up in Charlotte and attended the University of South Carolina, graduating with Honors in 1974 with at degree in Political Science. She received her JD degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981. Robin has always been active in the community, serving on the Carrboro Planning Board (Chair/Vice Chair), and the Boards of Directors of the Orange County Housing Corporation (now the Community Home Trust), the Orange County United Way (Executive Committee 1995-96), and the Triangle United Way. She joined the Board of the Eno River Association in 2000 (President), resigning in 2006 to become the Associationís Executive Director and General Counsel. She served for two years as Co-Chair of the North Carolina Land Trust Council, and currently serves on the boards of the Hillsborough Historic Commission, the Friends of Moorefields, and the North Carolina Natural Heritage Trust Fund.
Robin lives in Orange County near Hillsborough with her husband, Orange County Commissioner Barry Jacobs, their two dogs and five cats. Her brother, Steve Lackey, is also a lawyer with the firm.
